Van Alstine Project Management Ltd., acting as the Construction Manager, brought pmgm architecture ltd. onto this project to design an attractive building in a high profile location to house all of the requirements of the Ophthalmologist. The narrow lot across the street from the Pasqua Hospital, presented the design team with many obstacles including adjacent buildings and building setbacks as well as other zoning issues. All of these issues helped to develop the building into the functional, attractive showpiece that it is.
The main floor accommodates a large waiting room, reception area, 3 testing rooms, 4 exam rooms and Doctor's study, and the second floor holds the doctor's office, staff area and mechanical room. Large curving windows on the east and south facades allow natural light into the space which makes it feel more open and combats the long, narrow floor plan.
